I really feel for these unlucky individuals though. Typos are inevitable. Sometimes, they appear in my blog posts, and there’s nothing I can do about the embarrassment except cover my face from my colleagues.
But the slip-ups below were so hilarious I couldn’t stop laughing and I feel that we all need this kind of laughter in our lives at the moment.
So, although our hearts sting for these writers, we decided to share these hysterical typos and grammatical errors.
Check them out below:
“The Royal Jubbly” Queens Jubilee
A spelling mistake on thousands of souvenirs commemorating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee has one company red-faced.
Cups and plates meant to mark the Queen’s 70-year reign misspelled jubilee as “jubbly,” the BBC reported. The error appeared on more than 10,000 mugs, tea sets and decorative plates, People reported. There is an illustration of the Queen surrounded by the images featured with her coat of arms — along with the spelling mistake, according to the magazine.
“You will notice this is probably more at home on the shelf next to Peckham Spring as these are in fact celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubbly!” the website states. “These are … as you say … the Creme de la Menthe! So if you are a fan of the Queen and Del Boy … two birds with one stone!”
LUSH
Oh no it looks like Lush has made a double boo boo here.
While we’re willing to forgive the brand for the 404 error (it’s pretty common) – that misplaced apostrophe is just all sorts of wrong. Come on!
Mcdonalds
Mcdonald’s unfortunately missed out the ‘g’ in this vital word. I’m not sure if I want to try the other thing guys. It’s just another reminder that proofreading your work is incredibly important. In the age of viral images and video, a mistake like this could bring you an awful lot of publicity you would rather avoid.
H&M
Well clearly it takes a genius to spell a genius these days. I wonder if the person who designed this t-shirt was feeling a little stupid after this mistake. H&M may have had an expensive problem on their hands shifting these t-shirts.
Reebok
This Reebok ad on the subway is a great reminder of why it pays to take your time. The copywriter missed an E in “everything”. It certainly highlights everything that’s wrong with rushing! This isn’t the worst typo we’ve ever seen, but it’s embarrassing for the company. Not to mention the cost of replacing these ads!
Miller
I’m not sure how this simple phrase made it through the editing process all the way to a billboard without anyone noticing the misspelling of contradiction. Again another costly mistake for this large brewery.
